Petersfield, Hampshire
The school sits close to the South Downs in Hampshire, on the borders of Surrey and West Sussex, about an hour from London.
The school was founded in 1722 through a bequest to educate boys from Petersfield. It has since grown from a single building into a green campus, and its status has changed between independent and state-maintained over time.
The school says it aims to help every pupil reach their potential in a happy, caring and well-structured setting. Pastoral care is intended to continue throughout a pupil's time at the school, and Churcher's is central to the civic and cultural life of Petersfield.
