The Best Fit
At My Top Schools, we believe that a child is likely to perform well at school, and go on to be a successful adult, when they are in the right school environment. The right school environment is that which supports them with their passions, or helps them to find these passions and then supports them in developing further. All children are different, so we need to think carefully about the right school for each child. What is right for one may not be right for another.
Searching For Strengths
Most independent schools aim to deliver the same outcomes. They want to produce children with the best examination results the child can achieve, and to develop emotionally and socially into a confident and well-adjusted young adult, ready for their next stage.
However, some schools really are better at some things than others. These are their strengths. At My Top Schools - we allow you to search by the strengths that are important to you. You can easily find the schools that claim to be strong in these areas. This is the best place to begin your search.
Some schools on My Top Schools are featured as My Top Schools Select schools. Select status is by invitation only, and we reserve it for schools that have come through our own selection and review process. These are schools we believe stand out for particular qualities and strengths.
On these profiles, you’ll see a dedicated “Why We've Selected” section, where we explain what particularly impressed us about each one. If you enquire about a My Top Schools Select school, our team will work with you first to understand your child, your priorities and what may be needed to make a strong application. Admissions can be highly competitive, so we help parents prepare for what lies ahead and, when the time is right, introduce families to the school with helpful background about the prospective student already shared. This gives parents a more supported experience and helps schools receive better-informed introductions.
There is no additional cost to parents for this service. If a student is successfully placed, the school pays My Top Schools a commission for the introduction and support provided. Our role is to help families and schools make well-matched connections, with everyone focused on finding the right fit.

Paul Dunstan
Managing Director
Paul has been in Educational Leadership for over 25 years, in pastoral, academic and commercial roles. He led admissions in a prominent UK Independent Boarding and Day School, so understands the journey families need to navigate. Having lived in (with his wife and children) and a run a Boarding House, he knows more than most the importance of finding the right school for the child. He wants My Top Schools to be the 'go to' platform for School Comparison to help families make the best decision, so that children are able to flourish in the right environment for them.
Charlotte Hamson
Head of UK Sales
Charlotte has worked in the sector for over a decade, working with many families and schools in the important area of Guardianship. She has immense experience in Boarding Education and knows intricately the importance of finding the most supportive environment for children, to enable them to flourish. Charlotte works with our schools so that they can provide the best information to support parents in their decision making.
James Price
Co-Founder
James co-founded UK Football Schools, a specialist education agency that has helped families from around the world find the right independent schools for talented young footballers. Through that work, he gained first-hand insight into the challenges parents face when trying to identify schools that are not only academically strong, but also the right fit for a child’s ambitions, strengths and personality.
James experienced those challenges personally when searching for the right school for his eldest daughter, a talented sportswoman. He was struck by how difficult it was to compare schools properly, look beyond headline league tables, and identify a school with a strong sporting environment in which she would be most likely to thrive. That frustrating experience led to the purchase and redevelopment of My Top Schools - which is designed to help parents search more intelligently, compare schools more fairly, and make one of life’s most important decisions with greater confidence.
Harry Price
Co-Founder
Harry co-founded My Top Schools and has spent 14 years working closely with young people, families and schools across the UK. Through his work building development programmes including events for over 30,000 aspiring athletes - Harry developed a deep understanding of how different school environments shape a child’s confidence, wellbeing and long‑term potential.
His background includes delivering high‑standard, detail‑focused service for international clients in the super‑yacht industry, an experience that shaped his commitment to clarity, trust and exceptional support for families. That same ethos underpins My Top Schools today with a simple aim: helping parents understand, compare and choose the right school with absolute confidence.
