In 2026, Kent College Canterbury is celebrating exceptional International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB) results, with students achieving an outstanding average score of 38.2 points; placing KC among the UK's leading IB schools for the ninth consecutive year.
This year's cohort achieved an impressive average IB score of 38.2 points, exceeding the UK average of 35 points and the global average of 30.6 points. With a maximum possible score of 45 points, these results reflect the exceptional academic achievements of Kent College students and KC's commitment to delivering a truly world-class education.
An impressive 40% of Kent College students achieved 40 points or more – equivalent to achieving at least four A* grades at A Level.

Strengths at Kent College Canterbury
Hockey
HOCKEY AT KENT COLLEGE Our hockey programme is led by Olympian Alastair Brogdon and delivered by a team of dedicated staff and additional external specialist coaches. The hockey coaching team is vastly experienced from national league through to international hockey. Our high-performance hockey pathway provides students with the coaching, facilities and competitive opportunities needed to progress. Kent College has a strong link with local national league club, Canterbury. This allows our students to continue their development outside school hours in a high performance environment. Each year, numerous pupils play National League hockey with 6 current pupils representing Canterbury Hockey Club. Our programme has also played a key role in shaping the careers of some of the country’s top players. Former students Grace Balsdon and Lizzie Neal have gone on to become Great Britain Internationals, showcasing the standard of development and support available at Kent College. Whether students are aspiring internationals or simply passionate about the sport, our inclusive yet ambitious programme ensures that every player can progress, enjoy their hockey and reach their full potential.
EAL Support
INTERNATIONAL STUDY CENTRE (ISC) OptimizedImage,OptimizedThe International Study Centre at Kent College offers English language programmes that give students the English that they need to join the mainstream British academic curriculum and take relevant English examinations for entry to university in the UK and other countries. The ISC aims to provide an environment in which all students gain the confidence to access the curriculum, to participate fully in school life and to be the best they can be. The centre is highly successful in meeting its aims as pupils clearly benefit from their experience of English language learning in programmes that are designed to match their needs. Overall, the progress and results of ISC pupils are very good in both their English language lessons and their other subjects across the Senior School. Most students will move on to take degree courses at top UK universities or at leading universities around the world.
High Achieving Academics
Kent College is a leading provider of the IB Diploma Programme, consistently placed in the top ten IB schools in the UK. We also offer A Level and Cambridge Technical Diploma courses. With this broad range of courses on offer we are able to ensure students follow the most appropriate combination of subjects given their interests and abilities.
One Year GCSE
The Pre Sixth Form One Year Course is aimed at students who would like to gain GCSEs in one year prior to joining the Sixth Form. The timetables for students are individually written to suit their interests and requirements. A combination of English, Maths, Science, Humanities are normally studied and these are supported with additional tuition.
Cricket

Our long-standing collaboration with Kent Cricket reflects our commitment to promoting the game and developing young cricketers across the county.
