  • University Outcomes

Students at Tettenhall College completing Year 13 go on to excellent universities, both in the UK and internationally. Each year, around 50% of our students progress to Russell Group or equivalent universities, with destinations this year including Imperial College London, King's College London and University College London, along with Exeter, Manchester, Birmingham and more. We are also seeing an increased interest from students both from the UK and internationally in universities based outside of the UK. In the last two years students have progressed to the USA, Asia and Europe with institutions including The University of Milan, Barcelona Business School, The University of Amsterdam, NYU Abu Dhabi, and offers from prestigious universities including Princeton and the University of Peking to name a few. However, we are also focused on ensuring the widest range of options are available for all our students, and we have been proud to see students progressing onto highly competitive degree apprenticeship programmes, the Armed Forces and also directly into employment.

The Art Department at Tettenhall College is a wonderful place. Every day, our Art classrooms and studios are alive with pupils of all ages exploring, designing, creating and developing their work and their skills. Whilst pupils can focus on fine art, painting and drawing using a range of media, they are also offered fashion & textiles, sculpture & ceramics, alongside graphics and 3D design. Photography is also used by many of our students to further enhance their work and projects. The school offers excellent art facilities including large, light-filled specialist art classrooms, a textiles room, a clay room, a full-scale kiln, and a dedicated art studio for our oldest students who have their own individual areas to focus and develop their work, during and outside of the school day. Many of our students have progressed to some of the best Art Schools following degree courses in Art, Architecture, Fashion, Interior Design and many more.

  • Football (Soccer)

    Football (Soccer)

Whilst Tettenhall College has a long and successful track record of offering football as a school sport, the launch of the TC International Football Programme, in global partnership with Wolverhampton Wanderers FC, is a major milestone. This fantastic programme has been carefully designed to ensure that pupils who are aspiring, committed and talented football players, both boys and girls, are able to follow a professional style programme whilst still benefiting from a full academically focused education. Coaching is delivered by specialists from both Wolverhampton Wanderers FC and All Stars Sports Coaching, alongside our inhouse staff. The school's proximity to the professional club is a stand out feature of this programme. This is not a branding exercise, but a genuine and authentic partnership with a club whose history mirrors that of the school and whose training ground and stadium can be seen from our boarding house windows! Whilst football is the key focus of the programme, those taking part will also benefit from the school's excellent sports facilities including swimming pool, fully equipped gym, pitches, sports hall, squash courts and much more.

Science is a hugely popular and successful area of the curriculum at Tettenhall College. The school offers specialist laboratories for Biology, Chemistry and Physics and also a wide range of extra-curricular opportunities to all pupils to explore exciting and interactive experiments. STEM is one of our most popular Sixth Form Pathways, incorporating science, maths, computer science and engineering. These co-curricular and extra-curricular options are designed to inform onward study choices, give hands on experiences, and allow our pupils to stand out from the crowd when making applications to highly competitive courses. Our Medical Society is particularly popular, with a number of students going on to study medicine, dentistry, pharmacy or related courses each year.

  • One Year GCSE

    One Year GCSE

The Tettenhall College one-year iGCSE programme has been carefully designed to ensure international students aged 15 - 16 years of age have the very best preparation possible, prior to beginning their Sixth Form academic journey. GCSEs are usually taken over two years, but the Tettenhall College one-year iGCSE programme allows students to take five or six iGCSEs in one year only. This means in one year they will achieve the minimum entry requirements necessary to go on to study A Levels, ahead of making their applications to university. This programme is ideal for international students who are motivated to experience a strong academic environment, with individual support from highly experienced subject specialist teachers, or British students who are returning to the UK education system having previously studied in an international school. Due to the nature of the programme, we require a minimum B2 level of English language, or equivalent. For many degree courses such as medicine, it makes the application stronger to have GCSEs as well as A Levels or other equivalent qualifications. The Tettenhall College one-year iGCSE programme includes a good range of subjects that keeps students’ options open for the next step. During the year our team of teachers and mentors help students to choose the right subjects to pursue during Year 12 and 13, and students are supported individually as they select the best Sixth Form Pathway that will prepare them for their chosen university degree. A key aspect of life here at Tettenhall College is that international students are very well integrated within the mainstream school, where the majority of students are British. Our international community has students from more than 25 different countries each year, from Asia, Europe, North & South America, and Africa. Combined with the opportunities a full boarder can expect during the evenings and at weekends, the Tettenhall College one-year iGCSE programme is an excellent and enriching academic option which we hope you will enjoy exploring.

Affiliated Schools

Tettenhall College Preparatory School and Tettenhall College Senior School form one seamless educational journey, providing pupils with continuity, familiarity and confidence as they progress through each stage of their education.

As part of the same school community, Preparatory pupils benefit from access to the exceptional facilities, specialist teaching and wider opportunities available across the College. Strong links between the Prep and Senior Schools allow children to become familiar with the campus, staff and learning environment long before they move into Year 7, ensuring a smooth and positive transition.

Throughout their time in the Preparatory School, pupils take part in shared events, performances, sporting activities and enrichment opportunities alongside the Senior School. They are inspired by older pupils who act as role models, while developing a strong sense of belonging within the wider College community.

The close partnership between the two schools enables staff to work collaboratively, ensuring each child's academic progress, pastoral care and personal development are fully understood as they move into the next stage of their education. This continuity allows every pupil to embrace Senior School life with confidence, ready to flourish academically, socially and personally.

Although many pupils choose to continue their education at Tettenhall College Senior School, families are equally supported should they decide that a different pathway is right for their child.
