At Tettenhall College, boarding is far more than a place to stay – it is a welcoming international community where pupils live, learn and thrive together. Home to around 100 full boarders from over 26 countries, alongside pupils from the UK, our boarding community celebrates diversity, friendship and a genuine sense of belonging.
Nestled within the picturesque village of Tettenhall and just a short distance from Birmingham, Tettenhall College offers the very best of a traditional British boarding experience combined with outstanding pastoral care and modern facilities. From the moment pupils arrive, they become part of a close-knit community that truly feels like a home from home.
Our modern single-sex boarding houses are designed to provide comfort, security and independence at every stage of a pupil's journey. Younger boarders enjoy warm, inviting shared bedrooms that encourage friendships, while older pupils benefit from spacious twin en-suite rooms and, in Sixth Form, private study bedrooms that provide excellent preparation for university life. Every boarding house is led by dedicated House Parents who live on site, ensuring support, encouragement and guidance are always close at hand.
The wellbeing of every child is at the heart of boarding life. Our exceptional pastoral system, combined with an on-site Health Centre staffed by qualified nurses, provides reassurance for both pupils and their families. Boarders are cared for as individuals, enabling them to flourish academically, socially and personally in a safe and nurturing environment.
Mealtimes are an important part of life at Tettenhall College. Our experienced in-house catering team prepares delicious, nutritious meals every day, offering a varied menu that reflects the tastes of our international community. Alongside traditional British favourites, pupils enjoy flavours from around the world, while each boarding house also includes its own kitchen where students can prepare snacks and enjoy time together in a relaxed setting.
Life beyond the classroom is equally exciting. Our vibrant seven-day boarding programme offers an exceptional range of activities, sports, clubs and cultural experiences, ensuring every pupil has opportunities to develop new interests, build confidence and make lifelong friendships. Weekends are filled with memorable excursions across the UK, from exploring the landmarks of London and discovering historic cities, to visiting museums and galleries, shopping in Manchester, enjoying the beautiful British countryside or experiencing the excitement of theme parks and adventure activities.
Boarding at Tettenhall College provides an enriching educational experience where pupils receive an outstanding education, develop independence, embrace new cultures and create friendships that span the globe. It is a place where every child is known, supported and inspired to achieve their very best while creating memories that will last a lifetime.

Tettenhall College Preparatory School and Tettenhall College Senior School form one seamless educational journey, providing pupils with continuity, familiarity and confidence as they progress through each stage of their education.
As part of the same school community, Preparatory pupils benefit from access to the exceptional facilities, specialist teaching and wider opportunities available across the College. Strong links between the Prep and Senior Schools allow children to become familiar with the campus, staff and learning environment long before they move into Year 7, ensuring a smooth and positive transition.
Throughout their time in the Preparatory School, pupils take part in shared events, performances, sporting activities and enrichment opportunities alongside the Senior School. They are inspired by older pupils who act as role models, while developing a strong sense of belonging within the wider College community.
The close partnership between the two schools enables staff to work collaboratively, ensuring each child's academic progress, pastoral care and personal development are fully understood as they move into the next stage of their education. This continuity allows every pupil to embrace Senior School life with confidence, ready to flourish academically, socially and personally.
Although many pupils choose to continue their education at Tettenhall College Senior School, families are equally supported should they decide that a different pathway is right for their child.
