What makes us special, as a college, is the way in which everyone's love for science and maths pulls them together, thereby creating a community of like-minded individuals all pushing each other to achieve their best. If you were to walk around the College you would find the place alive with conversations about mathematics and science; students and staff excitedly gathered around whiteboards in groups of twos or threes, challenging themselves to tackle difficult problems in their free time; and looking for new opportunities to engage with each other and cross boundaries.
If your child is passionate about Maths and Science and wants to see how far they can push themselves, then I genuinely believe there is nowhere better to be than at NatMatSci. Here they will be part of a committed and engaged family of people who share the same interests and passions as them.

NatMatSci is not just an educational establishment – it is a home for our students. Our curriculum is demanding, so it is important for the students to have a comfortable environment to relax in after lessons. We offer a modern take on the traditional British boarding school experience: state-of-the-art boarding facilities in an urban setting, furnished to a high standard with a contemporary feel.
Boarding students live together in contemporary accommodation next door to the teaching centre in the heart of leafy Warwickshire. The residence has contemporary single occupancy ensuite bedrooms, a restaurant and barista coffee bar (The Alchemists’ on the ground floor), a gym, quiet study areas and communal kitchens and games rooms on each floor. We offer students aged 15+ their first taste of independent living with the security of our caring on-site Boarding Team 24-hours a day, 7 days a week.
Each student has their own en-suite study bedroom with a double bed, desk, wardrobe, under-bed storage and WIFI. Bed linen, duvet, pillow, and towels are provided for students at the start of the year. The rooms provide a calm and comfortable space for students to study and live independently, within a family-style environment.

One of the greatest strengths of NatMatSci is its specialist STEM education, which enables students to explore subjects far beyond the standard GCSE and A-level curriculum. Through challenging academic content and enrichment opportunities, students develop a deeper understanding of mathematics and science while nurturing intellectual curiosity. The college also offers a unique community of like-minded students who share a passion for STEM. This supportive environment allows students to find their tribe, collaborate with peers who have similar interests, and thrive both academically and personally. Teaching is another key strength. Students are taught by subject specialists, many of whom hold doctorates and are actively engaged in their fields. Their expertise brings university-level insight and enthusiasm into the classroom. In addition, NatMatSci’s award-winning STEM Communication Programme provides students with the opportunity to undertake an Academic Research Project. This allows them to investigate topics of personal interest in depth, develop valuable research skills, and, in some cases, produce work that goes on to be published in academic journals.

NatMatSci has a strong track record of academic excellence and high achievement. Consistently ranked among the top three schools and colleges in the UK for A-level results, it provides an environment where ambitious students can thrive. Over the last three years, an average of 86% of A-level grades have been awarded at A* or A, placing the college among the highest-performing sixth forms in the country. Last year, almost one in four students secured a place at Oxford or Cambridge, while 55% progressed to Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial College London, UCL or LSE. The college also has an outstanding record in supporting aspiring medics, with all medical applicants receiving an offer from their first-choice university.

At NatMatSci's we are extremely proud of our vibrant scientific community. For many students, it is the first time they have been surrounded by people who share their passion for mathematics, science and problem-solving. Students quickly find their tribe – friends who see the world in a similar way, enjoy asking challenging questions, and are excited to explore ideas beyond the classroom. This shared enthusiasm is reflected in the wide range of student-led societies, many of which are STEM-focused, including MedSoc, Robotics Society, Nature Society and Tech Society. These clubs provide opportunities to pursue interests, develop new skills and connect with like-minded peers. The culture of curiosity extends throughout the college. Each week, problem boards are put up for different subjects, and it is common to see groups of students and teachers gathered around them, debating ideas, testing approaches and discovering multiple solutions. This collaborative atmosphere creates a vibrant learning environment where intellectual curiosity is celebrated and students are encouraged to challenge and inspire one another.

The National Mathematics and Science College
We choose to endorse the National Mathematics and Science College (NatMatSci) for a couple of reasons. Firstly, if you are a student looking for STEM, and you want to access first class teaching and facilities which will prepare you for highly selective universities - you are unlikely to find another environment which is better. There are many schools which can get you an A* at A Level in STEM subjects - but they do not prepare you for life beyond A Level in a dedicated science environment in the way that NatMatSci does.
The other reason we choose it is because it takes boarding seriously - so if you want or need to board, and you are an able STEM student, you will be surrounded by others like you. It is very easy to find your tribe here. with 85% of students boarding - it is very much part of the culture. My Top Schools recommends that you put this on your watch list, and that you make an enquiry. Places fill fast!
