As well as traditional (7 nights a week) boarding, for those in the UK we also offer weekly (5 night) boarding and contemporary (3 night) boarding.
There are some extra charges for the supply of books in the Sixth Form, for Examination fees and certain minority sports. Extra charges may also occur if pupils make purchases at the uniform shop or if they join some of the School’s Societies or go on outings. Music fees are charged for instrumental tuition.

Boarding at Felsted
Felsted’s boarding culture is at the heart of the holistic education we offer all our pupils.
Boarding gives pupils the time and space to grow beyond the limits of a standard school day. Longer, more flexible routines allow children to explore their interests, discover new passions and build confidence that naturally carries back into the classroom. Many of our staff live on campus, which means they get to know each child as a whole person. They understand their strengths, their quirks and the things that matter to them, and this creates a culture of trust and mutual respect that shapes daily life.
Families can choose the boarding pattern that suits them best, from a more flexible 3 or 5 night a week option, to full boarding from age 11. Whatever the choice, every child becomes part of a supportive and grounded community where they feel they truly belong.

Global Citizenship & Internationalism
Global awareness is woven into everyday life at Felsted. A fifth of Felsted pupils come to us from beyond the UK, making our community rich and vibrant. As an active member of the Round Square Network of schools, pupils develop an understanding of a wide variety of backgrounds and cultures and have the opportunity to live and work alongside people from all over the world, and take part in a wide array of international exchanges. Felsted was one of the first schools in the UK to embrace the IB Diploma Programme and our many years of experience has resulted in provision that prepares our students to achieve world class Diploma scores and become lifelong learners. Felsted’s International Summer School, now in its 11th year, also develops global awareness, cultural understanding and creative skills as part of a large, vibrant and fun global community. Rugby
Felsted is widely known as a rugby powerhouse. As well as achieving success in school competitions, the school has produced many exciting professional players – including England’s superstar winger Max Malins - but most importantly, the school’s inspiring coaching staff have encouraged many boys and girls to take part in the sport and enjoy all the benefits it brings. Felsted’s Head of Rugby, Andrew Le Chevalier, a former professional rugby player who spent two years as a prop with Wasps, before moving to Swansea and then Grenoble. He has forged links between the school and professional organisations including Saracens and Northampton Saints whose academies are often an important first step for the school’s budding rugby professionals.

Felsted Prep is on the same Campus as the Senior School and children in the Prep transfer to Felsted at 11+ automatically. There is the opportunity to learn at Felsted from age 3 to age 18, and many do just that.
