St. Clare’s School is a co-educational day school in Newton, near Porthcawl in South Wales. It was established in 1938 as a convent school but is now run as an independent non-selective school for pupils between the ages of 2½ and 18. These are split into distinct groups of the Nursery, Junior and Senior Schools, along with the Sixth Form for pupils beyond the age of 16.
The school has an excellent examination record and offers a broad curriculum to pupils of all ages. They attribute their enviable record to an understanding of each student’s needs, talents and aspirations. By helping pupils select subject areas they will excel at, the school maintains a strong examination performance whilst tailoring a student’s school experience to their strengths and goals.
St. Clare’s offers a warm welcome to students of every nationality. They are a ‘highly trusted sponsor’ for the UK Border Agency and enjoy the diversity international students can bring to campus. They promote true integration for foreign students, ensuring that the school operates overall as a community.
